Baltimore County starts the season early, with a tree lighting and skating in White Marsh and a big light show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. Holiday Tree Lighting at The Avenue at White Marsh

When: Friday, Nov. 20, 6 to 8 p.m. (tree lights around 7 p.m.)
Cost: Free; skating tickets sold ahead online
Good to know: Stay after the lighting for Skate with Santa.

Maryland Holiday Light Spectacular

When: Dec. 3 to 30, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday to Sunday through Dec. 16, then nightly. Closed Dec. 25
Cost: Kids 3 and under free; kids 4 to 13 $10; adults $20 ($10 after 7:30 p.m.); free parking
Good to know: Advance tickets cost less, and some nights sell out. The Light Rail stops at the fairgrounds gate.

Baltimore County Christmas Tree Lighting in Towson

Good to know: Santa usually arrives by fire truck. Check the Towson Chamber site for this year's date.

Adults are $20, or $10 after 7:30 p.m.; kids 4 to 13 are $10 and kids 3 and under are free. Parking is free, and advance tickets cost less.
When is the White Marsh tree lighting in 2026?
Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Avenue at White Marsh, with the tree lit around 7 p.m.
